Report on "Ace your Interview" session

A special session was organized by EECE department on "Ace your Interview" by Ms. Shikha Malhotra, Certified Image Consultant on 8th August 2018. Students of B.Tech Final year ECE attended the lecture. It was a rigorous 2.5 hour session on innovative and unique techniques of facing interviews including proper communication, showcasing strengths and putting forth weaknesses. Live session on body language and mock interviews were conducted by Ms. Shikha. Students found the session very beneficial, especially with placement season starting soon. The feedback of the session was excellent. 
The guest lecture was coordinated by Dr. Rekha Vig.

Workshop on ETABS Software organized by Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NCU

The Dept of CEE organized a workshop on ETABS Software in collaboration with EXPONIQ Engineering Services Pvt Ltd for BTech, 3rdYear students on 13 Aug 2018. The module of software E-Tabs serves as a component of context learning in the courses of Structural Analysis - II and Design of Steel Structures, learnt by students in the current semester. ETABS is the ultimate integrated software package for the structural analysis and design of buildings. 

Latest ETABS offers unmatched 3D object-based modeling and visualization tools, blazingly fast linear and nonlinear analytical power, sophisticated and comprehensive design capabilities for a wide-range of materials, and insightful graphic displays, reports, and schematic drawings that allow users to quickly and easily decipher and understand analysis and design results. The session gave hands on experience to the students including practice sessions of different modules of the software.

Inauguration of Tinkering Lab at NCU

Tinkering Lab is an area where innovative minds can play with technology. It is based on the values of creativity, critical thinking, innovation and hands-on experience. It is a collaborative work area packed with components, equipment, tools and software. Students of any discipline can together give shape to their new ideas. They can design, create and engineer prototypes, new products etc.


The Tinkering Lab was inaugurated by Prof. BK Kuthiala, Chairperson Haryana Higher Education Council, Govt of Haryana, during the Orientation Programme on 21 July 2018. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Prem Vrat; Vice-Chancellor, Prof. HB Raghavendra; Registrar, Col Bikram Mohanty (Retd); Deans and HoDs of all Schools/departments and faculty members. A brief presentation about the Tinkering Lab was made by Dr Vandana Khanna, Dr Yogita and Ms Anuradha accompanied the guests around the lab and student volunteers explained the working of the projects in the lab. Some of the award-winning projects were on display to motivate students to work beyond the boundaries of the curriculum. Prof. Kuthiala was impressed by the type of work done by students of  The NorthCap University.

Alumnus shares prospects and career options after BTech

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an interaction with Alumnus Ms Piyushi Yadav (Class of 2017), JTEKT Sona Automotive India Ltd, on the topic ‘Prospects and Career options after BTech’ during the Induction Programme for 1st Year students (ME) on 27 July 2018. Ms Piyushi is part of the product development team in the Production Control Department. She shared her experiences of projects that she handled and also discussed various prospects and career options after completing BTech in Mechanical Engineering. Ms Piyushi has agreed to mentor students in their project work. The session was coordinated by Mr Anmol Bhatia and Mr Jag Parvesh Dahiya.
