Industrial Collaboration of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of The NorthCap University, Gurugram

Collaboration with Industry gives students an opportunity to learn from the Industry on various fronts like Projects, workshops, Internships, training's, etc.

Department of EECE, The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram has collaboration with many Industries like Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram, Green star Research and Development India Pvt. Ltd., SAC-ISRO, Coding Ninjas, etc.

Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. (MEI): NCU has collaboration with MEI since Sept. 2015 wherein the company provided equipment to the university, support in terms of projects, training sessions, workshops, guest lectures, participation in Edumeet conducted at various places under the banner of Mitsubishi, participation of students’ team in Mitsubishi Electric Cup etc.

Mitsubishi Electric Cup is a national competition held annually on Automation wherein teams of students from various universities across the nation participate and showcase their innovation in application-based project. Mitsubishi also support the shortlisted teams in completing their projects by mentoring them and troubleshooting the problems the teams faces while executing their project objectives. NCU students participate every year in this cup and won prizes and certificates.

Students also use the equipment provided by MEI in their B.Tech projects in the field of automation. Both faculty and students are supported by MEI in providing training's in their industry/in NCU, on the products provided by them. MEI also impart expert lecture on various topics to enhance the knowledge of students and staff in the field of automation. Along with this, skill development program is also part of training session provided to the students which certainly will help them to learn trends and requirements of the industry to come up with a better placement of students.


Green Star Research and Development India Pvt. Ltd. (GSRDI):NCU has Collaboration with GSRDI  since Oct. 2019 wherein live projects are provided to the students of B.Tech ECE to use their skills they have learnt in their B.Tech Course Curriculum in designing and execution of these Industry based live projects. Hardware items are provided by the Industry officials for implementation of these projects. A series of meetings done with the Industry officials/ experts in various areas during the whole process starting from designing to the end product which helps the students in providing a platform to develop an industry based skills required by the industries during their selection procedure for placements. Other opportunities are industrial visits, training sessions, workshops, etc.


Space Application Centre (SAC), ISRO: NCU has collaboration with SAC, ISRO since Feb 2018 for the NavIC Navigation Receiver Field Trial Data. NavIC Research Lab is set up in NCU and is inaugurated on 1 May 2018 by Dr Nilesh M Desai, Deputy Director, SAC-ISRO, Ahmadabad and Dr G. Raju, Former Project Director, Megha-Tropiques, ISRO, presently Visiting Professor, Jain University, Bangalore. Navigation Data collection and analysis are carried out on regular basis for verification and for other mutually agreed topics of research for both parties.


NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) is an independent regional navigation satellite system being developed by India. It is designed to provide accurate position information service to users in India as well as the region extending up to 1500 km from its boundary, which is its primary service area. An Extended Service Area lies between primary service area and area enclosed by the rectangle from Latitude 30 deg South to 50 deg North, Longitude 30 deg East to 130 deg East.

NavIC will provide two types of services, namely, Standard Positioning Service (SPS) which is provided to all the users and Restricted Service (RS), which is an encrypted service provided only to the authorized users. The IRNSS System is expected to provide a position accuracy of better than 20m in the primary service area.

Coding Ninjas: NCU has collaboration with Coding Ninjas, an Education-Tech company which is a team of Tech Professionals-turned-Educators from IITs, Stanford University, IIITs since Nov. 2019. They provide Online Programming courses to students. The vision is to help them develop Tech skills which can get them placed in their dream companies.

Under this Coding Ninjas collaborates with the Programmers Club in NCU wherein Club conducts at least one monthly activity/event in collaboration with Coding Ninjas. The activities/events conducted by Coding Ninjas are Workshops, Online Coding Events, Hackathons etc. and are free of cost for NCU Students.

NCU students can enroll for any of the Coding Ninjas online courses as provided by them. On course completion with 60%+ marks, Coding Ninjas Certificate will be issued to students. Students can claim 25% fee refund by submitting their enrolment proof with The NorthCap University.


Thus, every student is benefitting by the opportunities provided by Industries. Collaborations with the industries will surely get lot of exposure to various Industry trends which will help them to develop skills, hence nurturing them for a good job prospects in their career.
