NCU Signs MoU with Space Application Centre, ISRO for IRNSS

Space Application Centre (SAC), ISRO, Ahmedabad signed an MoU with The NorthCap University for two India Regional Navigation Satellite Systems (IRNSS) receivers at the University, on 5 February 2018. IRNSS is an independent regional navigation satellite system developed by India, which is designed to provide accurate real time positioning and timing services to users in India as well as the region, extending up to 1500 km from its boundary. The system which is named NAVIC is an acronym for Navigation using Indian Constellation. The MoU was signed jointly by the Director SAC, Mr Tapan Mishra and the Vice-Chancellor, NCU, Prof. H B Raghavendra. Col Bikram Mohanty, Registrar, NCU was also present at the occasion.


The MoU provides for collection and analysis of data on a regular basis for verification, research work for mutually agreed topics, research and scientific topics.  The navigational receivers will greatly facilitate students and faculty in their research and project work at the University.
