Blood Donation Camp at NCU

Blood is meant to circulate, so pass it around.’ Keeping up with this message the NorthCap University, Gurugram, organized a blood donation camp in association with the Rotary Blood Bank on 16 November 2017. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor, NCU. Speaking at the occasion Prof. Prem Vrat said, “Blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the society. Our blood banks are running short of required blood which is essential to save lives. By organizing such blood donation camps we can help them enrich their capacity.”

Volunteers of the Rotaract Club NCU and the National Service Scheme (NSS) NCU Chapter were active participants at the event as they not only donated blood themselves but they also encouraged their fellow students to donate for the cause. Blood donation is one of the most significant contribution that a person can make towards the society. It is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood. The response was overwhelming as students, faculty-members and staff enthusiastically donated blood and by the end of the day 312 units of blood had been collected for donation. The University has been collaborating with the Rotary Blood Bank regularly and organizing such camps for many years now to inculcate the value of community service and looking beyond oneself.
