πRATES QUIZ COMPETITION

“πRATES”, a maths quiz competition was organized by Mathemactive Society of NCU for B.Tech, B.Sc. (H) Maths and MSc. Maths students. The competition was held on 23rd October, 2017 at 1.30 pm in room no. N407. It had two rounds which tested the speed, technique and mathematical ability of the students. The first round was “MATHEMATICS TAMBOLA” which was based on the solving tricky mathematics question and a bit of luck factor. 45 students participated in the event out of which 10 students qualify for the second round. The second round was “MUFFIN TIN” where each student has to select any set of 5 questions placed in a muffin tin. Time was a major constraint in this round. All the students enthusiastically took part in both the rounds. All the participants were given the participation certificates. The winners of the event were Nikhil (1 st ), Nishant Kapoor (2 nd ) and Shivam Batra (3 rd ) . Consolation prize was given to Puneet Aggarwal. The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Anshu and Prof. Kalika Srivastava.
