Learning Foreign Language Courses: Moving Ahead With Time

In today’s global world, focus is on to produce global citizens and ITM University has in the past catered to the needs of industry and society in general, and is still striving ahead with it.  Therefore,continuing with the tradition, ITM University has taken a progressive leap, by initiating Foreign Language Courses in French and German. It fulfills the need of the hour, keeping in mind the placement of students. These courses will equip ITMU students with an additional qualification. A foreign language will add to employability and is the key requirement in industries. Presently, self-sustained Foreign Language Certificate Courses, namely Basic Certificate Courses in French and German and Advanced Certificate Courses in French and German and Elective Courses in French and German Language are also being run by the University. Foreign Language Courses have added another feather in its cap by offering these courses to students of all the three schools i.e. School of Engineering and Technology; School of Management and School of Law. It is an important initiative in order to keep pace with the changing times. It will fulfill the mission to make the students “global citizens”, who would be able to embark on their journey in the corporate world confidently. 

Learning a foreign language changes the perception of the world as we see it by removing linguistic barriers in a global organization. Multi-linguals have an advantage over others to interact with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. In countries abroad, multi-linguals have an edge over monolinguals in securing jobs and opportunities. The Foreign Language courses would be of great help to students who are desirous of going for higher studies abroad. It has also been proven scientifically that learning a foreign language increases brain power and analytical abilities. Foreign Languages can turn out to be a ‘Success Mantra’ for the students of ITM University.
