Innovative Idea Exhibition




Entrepreneurship Development Cell in collaboration with Institution Innovation Cell - TheNorthCap University (IIC-NCU) recognized by MHRD’s Innovation Cell, Government of India organized an Innovative Idea Exhibition in which 56 students have presented their innovative business ideas with the help of charts on March 6, 2020. Mr. Debasish Roy (Vice President Finance at Bertelsmann Marketing Services India Pvt Ltd, Group CFO at Arvato India & Director at Ramyam Intelligence Labs Pvt Ltd), Ms. Shweta Bhatnagar (Innovation Officer at MHRD’s Innovation Cell, Govt. of India) and Prof. Hemant Trivedi (Dean, School of Management, NCU) were the judges of the event. The winning business ideas were Tri-lium Safety, Helpmate and Indian Handicrafts as first, second and third respectively. The business idea of Tri-lium Safety was presented by Priyanka Arora and Parul Bansal; the business idea of Helpmate was presented by Manan Sachdeva and Abhinav Sahu, and business idea of Indian Handicrafts was presented by Ritika Thakur.
The whole event was organized and coordinated by Dr. Esha Jain, Faculty – School of Management, The NorthCap University Gurugram.

Eco-friendly Diwali celebration on 17 October 2017 in EECE Department


EECE department at NCU organized an event (under Santulan Society, EECE Department) on 17th October 2017 to spread the awareness among our students about harmful effects of burning crackers and to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly way. The event was inaugurated by gifting saplings and lightening earthen diyas. Students and faculty members took pledge to celebrate Eco-friendly Diwali with no crackers, which was followed by display of posters by students on the theme. The dress code of the celebration was ethnic wear; on the spot prizes, in the form of mementos were distributed to the best dressed students and faculty members. Celebration was concluded with chocolates distribution and photo sessions.

ASQ Yellow-belt Six-sigma Certification Programme at NCU


ASQ conducted a two day ‘Yellow-belt Six-sigma Certification Programme’ for the first time at NCU from 5-6 October 2017. The Certification Programme was inaugurated by Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro Chancellor and conducted by Mr Ciby James, Director ASQ South Asia. The Yellow Belt incorporated the White Belt skills, previously acquired by the students, along with team-working skills so as to develop them as Quality professionals. Mr Ciby James conducted an extensive 14 hour knowledge based session for the 162 outstanding students. To achieve better understanding of the concepts the participating teams had to apply their knowledge through fun activities at regular intervals. This knowledge based session was followed by the Certification Test. 

Prof. Ravindra Ojha, Director, SOET and ASQ-NCU facilitator along with his team finalized with Mr Ciby James the date for the Quality Conclave which is to be held on 11 November 2017.

Inter-Departmental Volleyball tournament

The Inter-Departmental Volleyball Tournament 2017-18 was held from 12-14 September 2017. The Winners Boys were the EECE team which consisted of Arun Kumar, Vivek Yadav, Ankit Budakoti, Naman Fulora, Mohit Joshi, Arjun Sahrawat, Ishu Chauhan, Akshay Yadav, Gauransh Ahuja, Ayush Saini, Ankit Kaushik and Sanjeev Kumar. The Runner’s-up were the CSE team The Winners Girls were BTech team which consisted of Shivani Roy, Varsha Yadav, Vidushi Bhardwaj, Shubhashree Dash, Neelam, Rajyashree, Rupali Sharma, Shivani Sahrawat, Turna Rastogi, Purnima, Akshara Walia and Pallavi Singh. The Runner’s-up were the BBA-LLB team.

Freshers Day Celebrations

The University organized a welcome party for the new batch of students on 15 September 2017 with an objective to formally absorb the new students to the University in a friendly atmosphere. Freshers of all the three Schools of the University participated in an ambience of fun, frolic, dance and laughter. It was a happening experience for the newly inducted students of the University.

The fresh batch put up an attractive and a stimulating fashion show on the theme ‘Superheroes with Wizardly Touch’ by walking the ramp in costumes of Super Heroes for the coveted titles. Kapil Rana of BBA-LLB and Anshika Dhankar of CSE bagged the titles of Mr and Miss Well Dressed, Hiten Yadav of CSE and Sanjana Yadav of BBA-LLB won the titles of Mr and Miss Fresher 2017 while Simran Mehta of BBA-LLB was declared Miss Diva and Gaurav Jakhar of BBA was declared Mr Charismatic.

Clad in their best attire, the students presented a colourful scene all around. Students enjoyed clicking selfies and posing for group photographs.
