Orientation FDP for new members of the faculty at NCU

The NorthCap University organized a Faculty Orientation Programme to interact with all new joinees on one common platform on 18 August 2018. The programme acquainted the 18 new faculty members with key aspects of various processes and their functioning in different domains. Members were given a warm welcome by the Registrar, Col Bikram Mohanty (Retd) and, to break the ice, the new members introduced themselves, shared their areas of expertise, interests and hobbies. 

Key University level activities like HR policies, ERP, RDIL, Examinations, Grades, Moderation, online tests etc. were shared by the respective Heads and doubts clarified. Members were motivated to become effective teachers by Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor, and Prof. HB Raghavendra, Vice-Chancellor. The speakers shared their valuable insights on the teaching profession citing personal examples. Emphasis was on providing inspirational and interactive teaching, faculty development and expectations from the faculty. 

Members were apprised of key schemes and faculty specific activities like the Mentoring Scheme, Student Counsellor Scheme, Appraisal Process, Outreach Activities, Internships etc. It was followed by a workshop by eminent academic, Prof. JK Mitra, Professor, Strategy and Organizational Behavior, Former Dean, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi.  
            

The interactive workshop conducted by Prof. Mitra comprised of team building games, group work, building teacher-student relationship, with special focus on innovative pedagogy and new approaches to the teaching-learning experience. The session concluded with Dy Manager (HR) welcoming the new faculty members to the NCU family and wishing them good luck in their future endeavours.
