Ansh Gupta, 8th Sem, School of Law, was awarded the trophy for the ‘Best Player’ of 11th ONGC North-East Tamchon Football Tournament in January 2018. He played for the Hornbill United FC which emerged as the champions beating Zeliangrong FC 2-0 and won the prize money of Rs 5 lakhs along with the prestigious trophy. The tournament was held in New Delhi and broadcast live on DD Sports.
This is one of the biggest football tournaments of the North-East. Altogether 16 teams participated in the tournament. Ansh received a trophy and cash prize. The tournament was held under the theme 'Unity, Friendship, Understanding and Sportsmanship’.
