Mr Shubham Bansal, Dept of Civil & Environmental Engineering, NCU attended the ‘National Roads & Highways Summit 2017’ on 6 July 2017 at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. Mr Sanjiv Nair, IAS, Director General, NECTAR, GOI enlightened the distinguished guests about the MoU signed by NHAI with ISRO and NECTAR for the use of spatial technology for monitoring and managing National Highways. Addressing the businessmen at the occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr Sanjay Jaju, (IAS) Director (A&F) NHIDCL, GOI spoke about the prevailing situation of the Highway sector in India. He encouraged them to invest more in the Highway infrastructure as it was a sector with great significance in the economic development of the country. Mr Jaju also spoke about the two organizations, ‘Infrastructure Equipment Council’ and ‘Constructors Skill Council’ which provide training for skill development.
Mr Rajeev Bhatnagar, CEO-Highways, Feedback Infra Pvt Ltd and Mr KK Gupta, Vice President and Head, L&T Construction spoke about the current industry outlook, policy initiatives & regulatory framework in the Roads & Highway sector. Mr Shubham Jain, Vice President-ICRA apprised the guests about the current scenario of infrastructure project financing in India. The Summit was also equipped with networking sessions.
