Dr Arvind P Bhanu

The NorthCap University,Gurgaon

Though  legal education in India has  changed its shape from good to  best, yet the current decade is  continuously wrapping its face from all around, i.e., from good to bad,  bad to worse,  bad to good and best to excellent. As law has emerged as one of the most promising arenas in professionalizing students, this decade has seen a number of law schools being run as producer of lawyers on papers as well as lawyers crossing the legal height in performance. In the present age the parents charged with ambitions, and the aspirants charged with change, starts to seek at various dimensions, as to which law school should they join, to realize the goal and destination of life?

Moreover, all the Law Schools imparting legal education are theoretically understood as having a role in teaching, training and research & also having nexus with the object of legal education. An institution is considered to be delivering an excellent output when it imparts Legal education, amalgamating all the above mentioned elements in such a manner that by the time a student get his law degree, he may need no further training.  Thus, we can say that in order to be a claimant of the premiership in Law Schools, one has to establish calculatively the above three elements.

The Law School of the NorthCap University has proved to do so by giving preferences to these components and has emerged as one of the premier law Schools in NCR. Keeping in view the overall development and cultivation of legal ability in students, the NCU Law School offers the programmes like Bachelor of Business Administration LL.B. (BBA LLB), Master of Laws (LL.M) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) The LL.M courses are having one year tenure and through electives, students at the NCU, School of Law in LL.M. courses can focus their legal education in areas including corporate law and Human rights Law.

The NCU provides facilities and services that are unmatched in size, quality, and beauty. the campus features a comfortable, inviting learning environment with student study space, high-tech classrooms, great appellate and trial courtrooms, rich law library and the State –of –The –Art infrastructural facilities. It also has a variety of journals, one such journal is the NCU Law Review.

Very recently, the very fact of excellence in imparting education has been studied and researched, under the National Institutional ranking Framework (NIRF) by Union Ministry of Human Resource Development in which the Northcap University has been ranked among top 100 Universities in India. Moreover, the NCU has procured the 4th rank in all Private universities in North India and happens to be the only private university in Haryana and NCR region to be placed in top hundred.

As far as the Law School of NCU is concerned, it has procured the first rank in the recently conducted GHRDC survey in Haryana. Certainly, such certification of highest rank owes to the contribution of proportionate blending of Teaching, Training and Research, contribution of renowned faculty members who hail from top ten premier law institutes in India and the conducive environment at the campus.

Thus, NCU Law School is committed towards developing the student's overall ability keeping in view the needs & demands of the present day legal world which are at par with the global scene.
