School of Law, ITM University, Gurgaon organized an Open House Session on E-Compliance using
Shram Suvidha Portal and MCA 21 Portal of Labour and Corporate Laws on 10 April 2015. The objective of the
session was to create awareness about online initiatives for hassle free and
transparent statutory compliances of Labour & Corporate Law, to identify
impediments and bottlenecks, and to suggest measures to improve online
management system in statutory compliances of Labour & Corporate Law.
The session was graced by the presence of Prof. Prem Vrat,
Pro-Chancellor, ITM University, Gurgaon; Dr (Prof.) Sanoj Rajan, Head of
Department, School of Law, Dr (Prof.) Dilip Dhiwal, Former Labour Welfare
Commissioner; Mr Gaurav of Shram Suvidha; Mr SK Garg, Addl. Commissioner,
Employee State Insurance Corporation; and Mr AK Chaturvedi, Regional Director,
North Region, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Dr Sanoj Rajan opined in his welcome speech that the
statutory compliances are a part of social justice mechanism. From the days of
renaissance, huge efforts have been laid
down on them and with time it has today developed into e-compliance, making it
convenient for users and government to use. Prof. Prem Vrat highlighted the
importance of ‘Make in India’ mission and e-governance system in improving the
corporate and labor scenario in India. Prof. Dilip Dhiwal later explained the details
of Labour Laws and enlightened the audience with his insights on the cause of
labour issues, reforms and its constitution. He advocated to have e-compliance
system to solve the labour problems. Mr Gaurav introduced the features of Shram
Suvidha to the audience and explained the difficulties associated with labour
law e-compliance. Mr SK Garg discussed about benefits of ESIC and Shram
Suvidha. Towards the end, Mr AK Chaturvedi explained about Ministry of
Corporate Affairs (MCA 21) portal and its services.
The session succeeded in creating awareness about the e-measures of Labour and Corporate Laws and overcoming challenges that they may face due to the enhanced measures of statutory compliance of Labour and Corporate Laws.
