OUTREACH ACTIVITIES OF LAW STUDENTS OF ITM UNIVERSITY GURGAON.

“Good better best, never let it rest, till your good is better, and better is best-Anonymous”

Among the ways that ITM UNIVERSITY students contribute to national and international discourse on a variety of current legal issues is by becoming active participants in journals published by various Law School. Students often write articles about legal problems that arose during their human rights internships, pro bono projects, or classroom discussions. They also develop relationships with university professors and other leading scholars by editing their submissions.

Internship is a compulsory component of every student pursuing BBA LLB (Hons.) degree programme.

The School facilitated allotment of internship opportunity to all its students. As a result, students had the privilege of interning and working closely with prominent Supreme Court lawyers, Government organizations, Public Prosecutors, Law Firms, in prominent NGOs etc. We believe in experiential learning and hence, clinical legal education methods are an integral part of the teaching learning process at the School of Law.

Our interactive teaching methods were supplemented by special lectures by numerous eminent personalities in the legal profession. Justice P N Bhagwati, Late Justice J S Verma, Mr. B S Joon, Director, Directorate of Public Prosecutor, New Delhi, Mr. Hans Fredrick Schoder, Deputy Chief of Mission United Nation on Refugees (UNCHR), Ms. Claire Achmad, Barrister & Solicitor, New Zealand, Mr. Manoj Sachdev, ICC etc are only few to name from the galaxy of legal luminaries who have graced the campus in the recent past.

The law students gave outstanding performance at various moot court competitions. The School has a well established legal aid clinic as part of the outreach activities; the school organized various legal awareness programs.  Over the few years, the School of law has successfully organized a large array of conferences in emerging and interesting areas of law such as surrogacy and human rights, aviation law and international law. Such conferences have also attracted many scholars experts judges from the respective legal domain and facilated interaction with students.

Over the last five years, the legal department has emerged to be a very active department with their interaction with legal luminaries. The legal students have evolved to be sophisticated and intellectual. The all round development of the students is the prime focus of the law school and all steps are taken towards that goal to be numero uno.
