NCU Law Students shine in LLM CLAT (PG)

The BBA-LLB students put up an admirable performance in LLM CLAT 2017 conducted for admission to the National Law Universities across the country. Raghav Kumar (Class of 16) achieved the Best All India Rank (AIR) of 23. He opted for NUJS, Kolkata. From the Class of 2017: Yogita Bangar was the Best Performer (AIR 43)-admission in NLSIU, Bengaluru; Urvashi Bhardwaj admission in NLSIU, Bengaluru; Akansha Gupta admission in NALSAR, Hyderabad; Surabhi Sharma and Prashant Tiwari admission in GNLU, Gandhinagar.



NCU Law Students Break Into Top Foreign Universities

It is indeed a matter of pride to announce that two of our Law students have got admission into prestigious foreign universities to study LLM. Ms Sunethra S (A topper of Class of 17) is joining LLM in Advanced Studies programme Public International Law at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. Mr Suyash Srivastava (Class of 2017) has secured admission at the prestigious University of California at Berkeley (UCB) Boalt Hall.



The NorthCap University Continues its Zero Tolerance Policy Towards Ragging

With the new Academic session slated to start from 24 Jul 2017 and admissions continuing in full swing, The NorthCap University, Gurugram held its Anti-Ragging Committee meeting on 20 Jul 2017 under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Brig S K Sharma (Retd). The Committee had wide representation with members from the University’s Administration, Faculty, Hostel Wardens, Local Police Station, Parents, members from the Press and local NGOs. The VC congratulated all the members present on the unblemished record of zero incident of ragging since its inception and reiterated the University’s resolve to remain free from the ugly menace of ragging. He informed all members that Anti Ragging squads from amongst Faculty, Administration and Technical staff members had been constituted and duly briefed on what constitutes ragging, vigil to be mounted to ensure meticulous implementation of anti-ragging measures and redressal mechanism in case the need arises.

The Vice-Chancellor, Brig S K Sharma (Retd) informed the members that Student Anti-Ragging Counsellors from across all Programmes at the University had been appointed to help act as an interface between the freshers and existing students and ensure no harassment is meted to them. The local Police representative was requested to depute a beat constable especially in the evening after classes to obviate any scope of indulgence in ragging by senior students. The VC confirmed that all reports as mandated by the UGC, Govt. of Haryana and local Police are being rendered without delay. The VC emphasized ragging being a cognizable offence, an FIR would be lodged in case of any ragging incident and the case would meet its logical end as per the laws of the land. The meeting ended on a positive note with all members expressing satisfaction at the measures instituted by the University and offered their whole hearted support in ensuring that the University remains ragging free.

Gurugram Students of The NorthCap University Competing in a Global Environment

Gurugram students have been selected to compete in a global environment and showcase their creativity and innovation through their project based on Smart Machines, Smart Robots and Smart Manufacturing. The project titled ‘Self-Check-out System in Retail’ is a highly applicable design for use in malls around the globe with capacity to save shoppers time and increased sales. Delta Electronics, Taiwan based company is holding the finals of the contest as a Delta Advanced Automation Design Contest 2017 from 23-26 July 2017 in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. 

Three teams have been selected to represent India during ‘Delta Cup 2017’ out of which one team consisting of students Tanyam Popli, Vibhor Mittal, Shivam Nautiyal guided by Dr Shiv Manjaree Gopaliya and Ms Charu Rana of The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram has been selected to present their innovative project proposal in China. More than 75 Asian teams from China, Taiwan, India and Thailand will be competing and this is the first time when India is participating for Delta Cup 2017. NCU has bagged a seat to represent India in the prestigious international forum ‘Delta Cup 2017’.

This is not the first time that The NorthCap University, Gurugram has made the city proud. Students such as Pranav Jain won the first prize of Euros 10000 in 5G Hackathon 2017 and OYS Challenge 2017. Only a selected few students from across the globe get the opportunity to participate in these competitions. Pranav won Google for India-US Hackathon, which was felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and was also a part of a day-long Innovation Hackathon in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
